Employment law and employee problems have taken on increased importance and concern for our clients over the past several years. We have responded by presenting a number of seminars to educate our clients about various employment issues, including hiring and firing employees, wage and hour laws, the Americans with Disabilities Act, drafting and utilizing employee handbooks, investigating employee complaints of discrimination and misconduct and what you can and cannot ask in interviewing prospective employees. We have handled numerous discrimination complaints in arbitration, state and federal courts, the Department of Labor, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
We have drafted a number of employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, employee manuals and policies including provisions related to Internet and computer use. We have litigated cases involving employment contracts, non-compete clauses, unlawful discharge, disabilities, unemployment compensation and various claims of discrimination. We have also represented companies involved in shareholder disputes that were tied to buy-sell agreements in an employment contract.
