After 25 years’ experience in the residential and commercial real estate field as a broker, Ms. Ahghar returned to school, earning her law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2014. She worked for a year in private practice focusing on foreclosures, title curative and creditor’s rights, representing lenders in consumer litigations, before she joined the City of Albuquerque’s Planning Department. There, her responsibilities included negotiating all agreements concerning real property for the City including commercial leases, easements, sales and purchases, and all real property litigation for condemnations, evictions and foreclosures. She also represented the City’s Development Review Board and the Labor Management Relations Board.
Ms. Ahghar returned to private practice when she joined the Firm in 2019. Her practice includes representation of clients in litigation concerning property law, landlord/tenant, owner/property management issues, contract negotiations, general contract rights, foreclosures, collections, replevin, condemnation, and real estate litigation. Her practice also includes employment law.
Ms. Ahghar moved from Annapolis, Maryland to Albuquerque in 1984 and earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics with distinction from the University of New Mexico in 1992. In 2014, she was admitted to the State Bar of New Mexico, United States District Court and Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Mexico. She is also a member of the Albuquerque Bar Association.
